Mr. Sebastian Matthes completed his studies of materials science with a specialization in materials science at the Friedrich Schiller University in Jena. Mr. Matthes successfully completed his master thesis, which he wrote at ifw (Günter-Köhler-Institut für Fügetechnik und Werkstoffprüfung GmbH), in 2014. Since then he has been working as a research assistant in the fields of "Additive Manufacturing" and "Quality Assurance (Materials Testing)". Since the beginning of 2019, he has been head of the "Additive Manufacturing" working group. His main focus is on impact studies in the L-PBF process, the qualification of new materials for this process, material characterization, especially structural and surface analysis, destructive testing and computed tomography.
