M.Sc. Daniel Alberts studied mechanical engineering and management at the University of Duisburg-Essen (Germany) and at UPV Valencia (Spain). He received his master's degree with a focus on product engineering at the University of Duisburg-Essen in 2011. During his studies he worked as a student assistant at the SLV Duisburg in the Department of Materials Engineering and at the University of Duisburg-Essen in the Department of Production Engineering with a focus on rapid technologies. He wrote his master's thesis at the Rapid Technology Center of BMW in Munich, which dealt with the processing of titanium-based alloys on aluminum die-cast components by means of laser cladding. From 2012 to 2015, he worked as a development engineer responsible for materials development and as a PhD student at SLM Solutions GmbH in Lübeck. From 2015 to 2018 he held various project management positions with a focus on process monitoring and since autumn 2018 he is leading the team of process monitoring.
